JAKARTA: PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) Tbk penetrated the health sector with the launch of electronic health referral system (eReferral) that allows a wide range of health services to patients.

Saiful Hidayat, Director of Project Business eHealth PT Telkom, said the contents of this eReferral consists of demographic data, medical history, treatment, and others.

According to him, the system can support the implementation of the Social Security Agency (BPJS), which came into effect in Indonesia in 2014. The reason, eReferral can increase the level of collaborative care in primary health care (PHC), secondary level health care (hospitals), level of service tertiary health (Dr), and the local health department or center.

For the initial stage, he said, will be applied in the regency, Central Java. EReferral system at the district health center involves Masaran I, and PHC Connect Tiger II, Sragen Hospital and Regional Medical Officer II Sragen level.
